Open With Application

Installing this extension helps you to simplify the procedure of handle specific file types. When clicking with the left mouse button onto a file link the file will be handled accoring to the settings in the options site. You can choos between "Open", "Save", "Save As" or "None".

"Open" downloads the file to "temporary_downloads" folder and a notification pops up. Clicking the body of the notification opens the file in the corresponding default application of your system. Canceling instead of opening deletes the file and does not mass up your download folder. The Chromium API on which Opera is set-up DOES NOT SUPPORT ONE CLICK OPENING opertunity of linked files, because of security issues.

With "None", "Save" and "Save As" the expected actions will be performed.

The extension also includes a context menu "Open with External Application" where actions are chosen according to your settings.

If you do not wish to use the left mouse button on default you can uncheck the related option. The extension also allows direct file opening from redirected links.

Supported file types:
.7z, .bz, .gz, .rar, .tar, .zip, .mp3, .wav, .csv, .doc(x), .odc, .odt, .odp, .ods, .pdf, .ppt(x), .tex, .xls(x), .avi, .mov, .mp4, .exe, .torrent and USER DEFINED FILE TYPES

Requirements:
In properties you should uncheck the "Ask where to save each file before downloading" checkbox.
To open pdf-files with external application you should disable the Chrome PDF viewer under "opera://plugins/".
Activating the "Allow access to file URLs" checkbox in the Extensions Manager gives you opertunity to open local files.
