Effective date: July 16, 2026. Password Field Inspector is a local-only browser extension whose single purpose is to reveal and restore password input fields under user-controlled global, site, and page rules for QA and web development. The extension does not read, copy, store, log, transmit, or share the value of any password field. It does not access saved passwords, cookies, browsing history, the clipboard, form submissions, authentication tokens, or location data. It has no analytics, advertising, telemetry, remote code, network requests, or third-party services. Local extension storage contains only the selected reveal mode, exact HTTP/HTTPS origins selected or excluded by the user, and switches for dynamic fields and open shadow roots. Temporary page overrides use session storage and are cleared on navigation, tab close, or browser-session end. The extension detects password input elements and changes only their type attribute between password and text. Password values never leave the page. Settings remain until changed, reset, cleared, or the extension is uninstalled. No data is sold, transferred, or shared with any person or service.
