Rating: 5Catching up with @tmannis. Similar hardware, laptop running Vista and constrained to Opera 36, so same environment. Clicking on the "S" icon drops down an empty, blank menu except for "Version" in a small font at bottom left corner.
This is different in Firefox 52 (ers channel) - Vista is again deprecated - which displays the full set of options in the drop down menu.
Obvious there is a difference between browsers, cannot report on Internet Explorer / Edge, as IExx has never been a browser of choice since the first releases of Firefox, and there is always the fear that Google is harvesting data from Chrome.
So, good guys at EFF, is the problem within the browser or within HTTPS Everywhere? is it worth sorting?

Rating: 4I would give HTTPS Everywhere 5 stars, and the issue I have is not that big of deal. I use HTTPS Everywhere frequently, I also use TOR browser frequently. I also employ a hardened VPN to connect directly to the Internet. Here's the deal, HTTPS Everywhere has matured and become a more mainstream privacy tool, but I think it still is a bit to geeky and intimidates newbies. Again, I think it's a great tool and a mature tool. But I still can't help but ask myself this question "If I have no solid background in the compute science space and I am a new user. What happens when I try to visit one of my fav's websites. And HTTPS Everywhere blocks me as a new user am I A) the learning curve be damned I am going to try and figure out and troubleshoot the issue or B) turn HTTPS Everywhere off until I am through doing what I am doing. And or just uninstall and walk away. Newbies I have helped tell me,even when they fix the issues, they are not sure they are protected any longer.
With that said, EFF I love you guys, there is honor in slaying the privacy dragon. I have had my differences in opinion with EFF over the years, but I fully subscribe to the effort and resources they (EFF) have put into the battle to making sure that everyday Netziens, newbs or us old guys, our privacy stays "Sacred" and for that I am grateful.Nov. 5, 2017 - Version 2017.10.30 -

Rating: 3It always forces https, which is good... BUT the drop-down menu from the toolbar icon is useless. Mostly blank, just shows two checkboxes w/o text so I cannot see what's going on. Using in Opera 36.0 on a Vista laptop.
