This policy explains what KDP Manuscript Formatter collects, why it is needed, and how we protect your account and manuscript files. Last updated: September 28, 2026 01 Information you provide When you create an account, we collect your email address, name if provided, password hash, and account preferences. When you use the formatter, we collect the manuscript files, project names, formatting settings, generated outputs, and processing status needed to provide the service. 02 How we use information We use this information to create and secure your account, format and return your files, enforce plan and usage limits, provide account emails when configured, process subscriptions, respond to requests, and maintain the security and reliability of the service. 03 Manuscript files Your uploads and generated files are stored in account- and project-scoped locations. Downloads require authorization for the signed-in project owner. We do not use manuscript content for advertising or sell it to third parties. 04 Service providers We may share the minimum information needed with providers that help operate the service, such as hosting, database, email delivery, payment, and file-processing services. These providers process information only to provide their services or as required by law. 05 Security and retention Passwords are securely hashed. Sensitive account tokens are stored as hashes and expire. Requests that change account or project data are protected against unauthorized use. We retain account and project information while it is needed to provide the service, unless you delete it or a longer period is required for legal or security purposes. 06 Your choices You can update account information, manage notification preferences, download your project files, and request account deletion from the account area. Deleting an account removes its associated projects and files subject to backup, legal, and security retention requirements. 07 Policy changes We may update this policy as the service changes. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the effective date shown above.
